I live in the Spanaway area and try to make it a point to find vintage motorcycle activities.

Looking for any Seattle area folks that may be able to lend me a fork tool for my XJ550 clean-up - the one that separates the tubes from the fork lowers.

    Thanks!

an inverted spark plug socket on a long extension can work if you find one the correct size.
I bought the tool from chacal works great and you are talking about the fitting going in from the top correct?
there is also an allen bolt going in from the bottom the which must be freed up first a little heat and i cut off an allen wrench fit it into a socket to get that loose

Just an observation. We recently spent 2 weeks in Washington state. One thing I noticed was that there were quite a few vintage Japanese bikes on the road. It was quite refreshing. Many more than I see here in the Mid Atlantic.

Thanks dude, yea she's an interesting one. It's kind of fun decoding the whole thing. Wish there was more info on parts identification, but hey, I bought her and a trailer for 500$ so I'm happy

I didn't get a trailer for my $500:) Still got a good deal. Prices people ask for on bikes around here are ridiculous

Port Orchard, Kitsap County ..... I'm not crazy about freeway riding ..... but if someone planned a day for everyone to ride the ferry over to the suburban side of the sound we have some laid back roads around here.
