I have a 1982 Yamaha xj650 Seca that needs to be re-wired. Does anyone have/know where to find a wiring diagram for this bike?

Thank you so much. this will help out a lot. Is your bike the same XJ 650 on youtube? I've seen a few videos about it.

Not nearly as much as many of the people here, but I've been working on mine since spring 2017 and have learned a ton. This is my first bike and the most I've ever done with engine work and I couldn't have done any of it without this group.

In the "XJ Technical Chat" section, start a thread for your bike. Spend some time doing the required reading and researching issues before posting questions. You'll find that most things you encounter aren't unique to you or your bike and have been thoroughly addressed earlier. That and a single thread for your bike will save time for everyone, including you. As you work on it, post your progress and questions so everyone can see the history of what's been done.

    Good luck!

    XJ650SECATAY,
You did not mention what the exact reason the bike needed a rewire. But, one problem that is typical of these old bikes is the fuse box. The old glass fuse holders get weak and very frequently do not provide a proper contact. The holders are very brittle after 30++ years. They may "look" good, but they are often not. Personally, the very first repair I complete when restoring one of these old bikes is to upgrade the OEM fuses to modern push fuses. I've done this using a couple different methods. However, XJ4Ever (Chacal) offers a nice complete kit that will upgrade that fuse box extremely professionally. You may find that a bunch of electrical gremlins immediately disappear and systems start working properly the moment that old fuse holder is replaced. That's just my 2-cents...
    Sincerely,
    Kurt

Is the wiring diagram you posted also for the 1981 750 Seca?
