So I got my cheap AutoPal Euro lens, reflector, bulb (x2) and rubber boot today.

I know I've never used a Euro headlight before but is it defective, upside down bulb or just me?

I have not take a ride yet (maybe later tonight BRRRRR) but there seems to be ZERO light pointing down (lower half of the lens) and a slight extra bit upper right (for street signs).

The (extra) bulb I got also seems to have a reflector near the tip that may actually be causing the 1/2 lighting.

Am I crazy or did I get improper bulb/lens? (Yes I bought the EURO style on purpose).

FYI: The light on my house is only a few feet away from the bike - I know not the best test...

Re: Defective, upside or just no use to Euro Light Pattern?

    Maybe aim it down?

    That looks high to me.

Re: Defective, upside or just no use to Euro Light Pattern?

Yes I still need to fine tune the aiming, but what about the 1/2 reflector on the bulb and the lens only illuminating light on the top 1/2.

Is that normal for Euro/H4 ??

I wasn't planning on riding tonight, but I might go out to at least tweak the aim.

EDIT: Quick google search shows bulbs with the 1/2 reflector inside. So I guess that part is normal. Should the reflector in the bulb be blocking light up or down??

EDIT 2: Maybe I was to quick to post w/o checking it out further away from a wall. Without an actual night ride, the bulb does seem to be illuminating the road. Though there is a definate amount of light pointing up and to the right (for street signs?). So, unless my concerns were valid, ignore my post for now

The euro lights are supposed to have that rightward, upward "wink", and you are correct, it is for street signs.

    BTW...metal bob...YOU POST A LOT!

:) Brother, I remember when you were still a Biker wannabe, and you are already red lining? I need to step my game up, I guess.

I may post alot, but I am learning and trying to help others when I sorta know what I'm talking about :)

It doesn't help I don't have any "bike" friends (yet) to ask common questions.
