We need a thread that is like an index of members and their bikes. So post pics of your bike/s with your forum name and a short description of the bike so it will be a searchable database :D. Heck maybe we can even get this pinned :D

1983 Seca 550, lots of subtle upgrades and modernizations plus it's "personalized" and now my daily rider:

1981 Seca 550, very close to stock with the fairing removed; some minor upgrades and "personalization" but lots closer to stock than the '83:

1982 Seca 650 project; rough and a WIP although I work a LOT slower than Wiz:

1974 Norton Commando MKII Roadster, as original as can be with a few minor upgrades. All miles are mine, bought new:

This is my 82 XJ750J. The Yamaha fairing must not be very common as I have not seen another like it.

Wiz, out of all your restos, the XS650 is still on the top rung in my book, followed closely by your 900.

And where is a pic of the red 650 Seca?

    That's "when"

ACTUALLY bought because you were looking at another 750 with a broken second gear and some BigFitz guy insisted you rescue this one from going to the junkyard in Toledo instead...

    Go ahead, 'fess up...

Wiz, I can't lie-- of those three, you turned the Honda into a real 100-point bike. While the others are gorgeous, you can still tell they've been refurbished. The Honda looks almost freaking new.

    Good work as always.

I still like the gold XS650 out of all of them. The 550 Kwacker was probably the most startling tranformation; the bike looked like it had been abused in the Outback for 20 years, like something out of Mad Max. I have a personal "soft spot" for that one; it led me to the perfectly-fitting Kawi fork boots I have on my Seca. (Thanks again, RL.)

But the XS650 just has that "look" maybe it's the Triumph influence. Gives me a warm fuzzy every time I see it.

Here are the only ones i have at the moment.
    1. 1963 centaur clinton powered. Folds up into a suitcase. absolutely the worst handling machine at 35 mph that i have ever seen.
    2. 73 rd250 with 350 top end swap less then 5100 miles. 250 gearing with 350 top end makes it mr toads wild ride. Original paint and all.
    3. 81 cm400a 9k just to be different 1st 2 speed automatic motorcycle i have ever owned.
    4. 85 maxim x restored from bobber. Need to polish r/s crank cover and re install the carbs

Clean Max, MM. Hey-- either your rear brake pedal is bent, or it's horribly mis-adjusted. Check your manual, you'll see what I mean. If the book you have doesn't cover it, PM me.

I WANNA SEE MORE PICS of this thing! It's a "modern" Welbike! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Welbike I love bizarro attempts at "better mousetraps" like that; give us a better pic of it "deployed."

here is a link to a website with a lot of pics. Mine is behind a bunch of stuff in storage in one of my small garages. I need to drag it out and start it. After a rat got in my garage and ate a hole right thru the seat from the bottom up to get at a bag of dog food that was on the seat i kinda lost interest. Its an easy fix all it is a piece of wood with some foam and a homemade cover. Was going to post a pic from 30 years ago smoking the tire but it wont let me tells me i have reached my quota of 5 http://www.caroholic.com/62_centaur.htm

Don't need to do it this way. You can already draw up a list of members from the left-hand menu box, and you can post the pics in your gallery.

Time to add to the list.

    Nemesis (83 XJ750K)
A nonstop battle since the day of purchase. Once the engine was determined to be bad. It has become a no holds barred full custom chopper project.
4 up, 2 out front end raked to 45* with 10" over forks using a virago 700 front end, and wire wheels, and a 900 engine swap.

Nemesis has done more to contribute to the MAS than progressing in its own rebuild. It needs to get built!!

    Grey Ghost (80 Honda CB650C)
Bought after the engine in the Nemesis was determined to be bad. Back on two wheels after 20 years. This bike will eventually be built into a bagger style with Bates hard bags, Wixom Bros fairing, & Jardine turnout exhaust.

    Lucille (83 XJ900R)
Started as a parts search for an engine for the Nemesis project. Matching numbers, and clear title changed the plans. Now a full Euro spec restoration project.

Bad Moon Rising: 83 Midnight Maxim Tour Deluxe (83 XJ750MK)
This bike will join the pack in the spring of 2012, and will get the complete factory tour deluxe package that was originally picked up for the Nemesis project. The tour package turned out to be to nice for the Nemesis. I had to buy another bike for it. Plans are to keep this as a running restoration project. At least until the Nemesis gets finished!!

Hi there all, I'm in Christchurch, New Zealand and I have bought this XJ750. It belonged to a dear friend who died recently and it's going to stay in my shed, keeping the rest of my 20-odd bikes company. It was kept there for him to use when he came here from Australia twice a year to ride. It's the only Yamaha there.

I haven't seen one similar here on this forum; does anyone know how common they are? It's an '81 model and I have all the paperwork showing it's original and that the 63,000km (39,000 miles) is correct. I went away for the weekend with two friends and covered a completely trouble free 800km. It was a nice, if somewhat buzzy ride.

It's been laying on it's side three times in the last year as the earthquakes we are having here in Christchurch have trashed my shed regularly. It's hard to keep a stable of bikes in good order in these.. errrrr... "unstable" times.

Anyhoo, nice to meet you all and thanks to the Mods and Admin for all there work. I know because I run www.suzukits.com for those old two-smoke Suzuki trail and motocross bikes

    Cheers all
