I have a nice factory seat with a cover on it. Looks and feels great. Didn't even realize it had a cover on it when I bought it.
I am going to be cutting the base and remolding the seat like the picture with the blue section. If some one has a seat with a torn up rear section they want to trade let me know.
attached is a pic seat as it is also.

Or if somebody has a xj solo seat like off the XJ700 I think it is.

So you want to trade you decent shape stock seat for someone's beat up (rear end) stock seat?

I'll have to check the basement, I know I have one rough seat I thought I might recondition SOMEDAY...

Yes basically but my first choice would be one of the solo seat style front section from a XJ700 I think...........

Just don't want to chop a a good seat but maybe thats what I would be doing anyway right?

You would have to modify the frame to get the XJ700 seat to work on your bike.

Oh ok thanks for the info. I think I am just going to mod this one and call it good.

Actually I think I am going to just get rid of the plastic compartment at the back of the seat and make a mount for the license plate so it is recessed into the back of the seat and trim off the fender right there and use one of these black (not the gold pictured) license plate frames with a white plate LED's, Ambur turn signal LED's and red running/brake LED's across the bottom of plate to replace taillight/turn signals.

No mods to seat and cleans up the tail end of bike after extra bracketing removed.

I have been looking for a more flat seat. I hate the one I have on my bike. It's in perfect shape.
The most comfortable place is for me is at the top of the bump. I can't sit on it because it's to much of a peak.

I found in 83 they came with 3 different seats.

Do you still have the seat?

Here is a link to a photo of mine.

I'm looking to do a trade right now actually, I have a post up for it. Here's the link.

I think mine would make a pretty cool single seat, don't like it as a double though. I want a stock seat so badly. Let me know if this works!
