Whether your building a bobber/chopper/cafe racer or your a purist I want to see the different tires you guys have put on. To me, nothing looks better than a fat low pro tire on a motorcycle, so Im looking for some inspiration.

Can't really squeeze a big tire in these swingarms, try kzrider.com they swap swingarms and use those big tires

I feel your pain with trying to get people to participate on a tread.

Here is mine. It's a 1995 XJ900S Diversion wheel from Europe with a 150/70R17 sport tire on a 1982 Maxim swingarm converted to monoshock suspension.

any pics of the clearance of the tire to the swingarm? would a 160 work or is the rim not wide enough? How does the diversion rim allow a wider tire than the stock rim? Is it because it is a 17 inch rim ? Can the stock swingarm be modified to allow additional clearance for the tire?

It was a tight fit, but no rubbing. I think there was a few mm offset on the rim, but honestly I can't tell. I built the rear frame around the swingarm after the wheel was on. I've ripped it up and down the streets and it handles a million times better than stock. In fact, I put it up with modern bikes. The frame strength and flex is what holds it back now. But it's pretty stout. I'm R&D it now for stress and tearing it all down and making adjustment/fabrication before powder coating the frame.

I don't think a 160 tire will fit without some cutting to the driveshaft side of the swingarm. I think the 150 is a big change in apperance from the old style. To go 160 on the tire, you have to go with a lower profile tire and it doesn't look right, I think. A 170 sport tire will not work and those are the most popular sizes. Dunlop Roadsmart tires are what I'm running and have excellent grip.

I believe there was a thread on here where somebody had run a 150 tire on a virago spoked wheel with no mods to the factory swing arm/driveshaft.
