Hi, I've searched the posts but I couldn't find anything that matched my issue. I'm just about finished removing the u-joint and driveshaft but the left mounting point on the side of the bike I'm unsure how to remove it. (the ones covered by chrome colored caps). The right side had a nut and then then the threading point of the nut unscrews from the side. It looks like the left side just pulls out but I've tried and it won't budge. I have the whole rear of the bike apart including exaust. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

The chrome cover pops off, exposing the bolt. There should be a locking washer that you will need to pry back one ear of, then remove the special bolt. The two swingarm bolts are different. Left side is a one-peice special shoulder bolt, right side is a two-part bolt that is adjustable for preload (hence the seperate jam-nut).

I highly suggest that you get both a Haynes and a Yamaha factory service manual, as this (and many other) procedure(s) is covered in depth in both manuals (but both are not stand-alone by any means).
