    I bought an xj550 and the pervious owner stripped the bike down. I bought a new harness and I need some tips of wiring it up. Anything helps thanks

    you have a device made for harleys . without wiring diagrams of harley switches it would be a little hard and conjecture to tell you how to hook it up

    How is tht a diagram of minimal wiring? There a horn , turn signals, relays. Minimal wiring should only be head light, taillight battery, key switch maybe few other things tht only are NEEDED to make the bike run!!!

    There’s no need to yell

    This site has members from all over the world. Legal requirements vary. Most places require all of the things in that diagram in order for a motorcycle to be considered roadworthy. Many US states require the same.

    I’m not sure how you’ll manage without a starter relay.

    The second diagram is the minimal one, has what you specified along with ignition and charging system.

    so take a pencil and cross of what you do not want.

    it is minimal because all the safety fetures have been removed
