I have had this question for a while, but haven't thought to post it... On my '80 maxim, the collection box appears to have two welds on opposite sides running the length of the pipe where the slip-on slips on... Is there a good way to combat the exhaust leak your bound to get, being as muffler gaskets and such are round, and due to the welds, the pipes aren't a perfect circle by any means????? Thanks.

muffler gaskets. They're thick and pliable enough to do the trick, and do get baked solid over time requiring replacement. HAVE FUN getting the old ones out/off.

Gaskets for the muffs on the 750s are a barrel type made of some soft material like copper or something. When you tighten the clamps they form to the pipes and seem to do the job like Fitz said.

To get them out I just cut slots in them and pryed them out.
