1982 xj650 Maxim headers/exhaust help

    I have a 1982 xj650 Maxim and was looking to put shorty mufflers on when I realized the exhaust is welded. Should I cut it off where it’s encircled or get 4-2 or 4-1 header kit? What’s the best way for me to go around this?
