hey guys, this is my first bike and I just rode it from California to Seattle and I don't really have any handy friends here in Seattle who can listen to my bike and tell me if it sounds wrong. Here's the video of my bike idling kinda warm kinda not, should I be concerned? Is it the cam chain or do I adjust the valves? It's just my only form of transportation and I'm nervous about it. Thanks for your time. (Oh puddle on the ground is water, tried to scrub off some gas stain).

Sounds ok to me, have you adjusted valves yet? A clappy engine is a happy engine..when they stop making noise is a bad thing.

bike should sound like a sewing machine. when it makes no ticking you have a problem

when you check the valves adjust the cam chain tensioner (unless you have an automatic one.)

+3 All is well, though you should check valve clearances. Some of the 650 and 750 engines can also have noise from the exhaust cam tapping due to a bit too much endplay. It doesn't need to be corrected as it's not enough to cause damage; just a bit of noise.

I don't think the pods can cause the engine to make the tapping sound in the video. They only cause whining noises from the owners.

Yea those pods let you hear intake valve noise that would normally get muffled by factory air box

Hey guys sorry for the slow response but it turns out it was just the cam chain tensioner that I needed to adjust (was really loose). After I fixed that it sounded lovely, ran some techron through the bike and it got even quieter. Thank you all the ideas tho!

Next is probably the exhaust manifold and speedometer. Wish me luck haha
