OK gang... help a brother out... cylinder two will fire, but not very efficiently... the pipe will eventually get warm, but not hot... it revs like the carb piston is sticking, but my mirror finish using rick's sandpaper method and the "falls like a bag of bricks" clunk test says the same...

The carbs are vacuum synched, and the bike will run, and fairly well for #2 being lazy... but I can't find a happy medium on the idle... it seems as if it fires at higher rpms, but when I drop the idle down just a bit, it quits, and without adjustment it will stall....

It isn't in the spark, and these carbs have been apart time and time again, and I can assure you that they are spotless inside.

I also noticed during the vacuum sync that the vacuum hose running to #2 had vacuum, but the bike makes no attempt to stall when the vacuum is unplugged as it does on the others...

    What are some suggestions?

Check #2 for spark (you can switch it with the #3 lead).

    Check compression on #2.

If those are both ok, you have a mixture problem on #2. Could be the mixture screw, or something not right on the inside.

swap that sparkplug to another cylinder, see if the problem follows it

You could have swapped Jets on that Hole.
    It happens.
If the Fuel Jets are Swapped at the Fuel Bowl end ... The Fuel Flow to the Pilot Mixture Screw is so Rich that you can't get that Hole to run NOT too Rich to Fire.

Likewise, if you took-out the AIR Jets below the Rubber Diaphragm ... and got those two mixed-up ... that Hole will Fuel Foul so fast that it seems like its always dead.

It's not compression or spark... I really tried to make sure everything went in the right place on the carbs after reading about everyone's mishaps, but it isn't beyond me to do something like that...

I was able to get it out today, as long as it's moving, we seem to be running hot... I just can't get it to idle where it should now... I'm awfully tires, and apologize if I'm not making sense, but I certainly appreciate any further input; I'll check the air jets Rick, thanks.
