550 airbox interchangeability?

1982 xj550 38k. Picked this one up for $50. I am not familiar with these at all. P.O. apparently wanted to go with pods, abandoned the project with carbs off no tank, no seat and no AIR BOX or filter element. I would like to return it to factory specs but cannot find an airbox for the 550. Do any other xj models share the same box? I am unable locate any previous threads on this topic. Thanks ahead for your time.

 

XJ550 Maxim and XJ550 Seca models have airboxes that look the same, but they are a bit different. It might be possible to use an XJ550 Maxim airbox on a Seca model....maybe, I've never test-fitted the interchange.

The XJ550 Maxim shares the same airbox with the 1986-90 YX600 Radian models.

All other models.....XJ or not........will not work in the 550 frames.

You’ll also need the rubber boots and clamps to connect the carbs to the air box.

edit: I just checked fitment for the part number above and it only lists the 1981 XJ550H.
