I love to tinker on bikes, especially the ones that were cool when I was in high school and the period right after (early eighties). I usually keep a project in my garage, and this allows me to ride some of the bikes I couldn't afford back then. Below are some pictures of a few of my recent projects.

In 1984, I bought a brand new 1982 Seca 750 leftover. I loved the bike, and have always wanted to get ahold of another one. A month or two ago, I found one on Craigslist being sold by a member here. It was partially disassembled and had a few issues (bad forks, seized front MC, pods, etc.). But, it was mostly complete and overall a solid bike.

Over the last month, I've been able to put it back together, correct it's problems, bring maintenance up to date and put it back on the road. Thanks to Joe Elliff for helping source some hard to find parts :)

Last weekend, I took it back apart and started body work. I'm hoping to be done with paint this weekend and be completely done early in September. I'll post more pictures as the paint and reassembly progress.

Nice collection of bikes! I’m digging the wing for sure.

Your Goldwing is facing the wrong direction and it is triggering my OCD :)

I can't get over how clean your garage and driveway are. And your lawn is so perfectly trimmed. I think you may have a little OCD too.

Do you still have all the bikes or do you sell them once you have completed the project? I like that your collection is eclectic and not all the same manufacturer. I agree with @jayrodoh , the Goldwing is my favorite.

Thanks for the comps, guys. Yes, I think OCD does run in my family. Sadly, my wife says I can only keep one at a time, so I don't get to hold on to my projects. I've sold all these once they were finished. Here's my keeper (also pointing the wrong direction :)).

Looks like that XJ is in good hands. Looking forward to seeing the project progress.

What about the blue Yamaha? Is that an xv920? Don't see too many of those!

Yes it was. It was a parts bike for another XV project. There was enough left over when I was done to be worth saving. That was a fun one. Wish I'd kept it.

I've been out of town and unable to make any progress on my Seca, so I'll post a couple of pictures of some other projects I've completed over the last few years. Still on track to paint the Seca this weekend though so I hope to have some pictures Sunday or Monday.

The paint is done (well, aside from cut & buff). It turned out pretty well except a gnat landed on the tank. I should be able to buff most to that out. It's also a little more cartoonish than I intended. Hopefully that'll tone down a bit when it's all assembled.

Reassembled! I still need to buff it out, add the badges and a few other details, but getting close.

This has been done for a week, but it hasn't quit raining until today. Finished product...

What brand pipe do you have and did you rejet it?

The exhaust system wasn't a matched set. The header came with the bike but it was missing the slip-on. Pretty sure the slip-on is a Vance & Hines, but I've sold the bike and can't confirm. I had to make some minor modifications to the slip-on to make it fit.

The bike came with pods, which I immediately switched out for a stock air box. The jetting had been tinkered with when I got it, but I didn't record the jet sizes. It ended up working well with the final intake/exhaust set-up, so I didn't have to mess with it other than sync and set the pilot screws. So all that's probably no help to you, but it's as much as I know.

No problem. My gray 82 750 mufflers are unsaveable so I’m looking at aftermarket unless I find a good original set.

I'm guessing therefore she's only allowed one pair of shoes at a time - fair's fair after all!
