82 550 nutral light

    i am new could someone give me some info on the nutral safety ,the light and
    wireing is good but the ball behind the swsitch does not touch the switch .
    should it be spring loaded .thanks for your time .

    There is a spring behind what the factory calls the "neutral point." (The ball.)

    However, it should not touch the switch nor really feel "springy" unless the bike is in neutral. The rest of the time it just kind of flops in there.

    I just looked in the parts fiche; both the "neutral point" and the spring are still available from Yamaha so I'm sure Len has them too.

    thanks fixed ,the ball was stuck in .removed and sanded clean now it works
