    82 xj kronies, anyone point me in the dir of the MAIN safety relay? still trying to chase down whats causing no spark.... all connections look good there is like no corrosion anywhere on the loom and from what i can see all fuses are good

    Underneath the tank next to the sidestand relay is the starting circuit cut off relay. They look like little boxes plugged into the loom.
    Also, you've not tried to start it with the sidestand down have you?

    iglesiaseric616@live.com, i tried doing both. s/s down with switch unplugged and s/s up with switch plugged. neither. i cant find a picture of the stating circuit cutoff relay to see what it looks like. im all new to xj's i have a kz, so im trying to learn on the fly.

    Main saftey relay is directly above the # 2 and 3 carbs under the tank. You can lift the tank slightly and unplug the rely to dissable the saftey circuit.
    There are a few other things that would cause no spark.
    -bad fuses or fuse block. check for 12v to the module
    -ignition pick up coils
    -bike tip over safey switch( little black box over the ignition coils). This one is a rare problem but it can happen.
