    Good morning Gentlemen,

Well today my FB notifies me of a Seca post in the market place. 83’ xj900 Seca for sale. Guy can’t get it to start, start button won’t work but will turn over if you jump the solenoid. He’s asking $750 so I’ll be going over to look at it. Says the last owner was military and came back from deployment and couldn’t get it to start, added a new battery and solenoid. The the new owner fiddled for an hour on it a gave up (too many projects)

I’m kind of hoping it’s a clean the contacts and clean the carbs and have a running bike. We will see based on the condition when I get there. Bike has 18k miles and registration ran out in Sep.

    To do list:
    Clean contacts and starter button
    Check/clean carbs
    Start and ensure it runs.
    Oil change
    Brake fluid
    Brake pads
    Shaft oil
    Fork oil
    Tires

I’ll be looking for any PO shenanigans with the wiring.

Anything to lookout for on these One model year bikes?

Better hurry before @hogfiddles finds out he’ll drive that far to get it!

At $750 you should just buy it (assuming that it's not missing any parts).

Check the brake line date codes, and replace if they are rubber and more than 4 years old.

They were only one year in the U.S., but ran for many years worldwide.
If you buy it contact Hogfiddles so he can check if it's in the registry, and add it if it is not.

From the new pictures. The faring is scratched and primered. The left engine case has scrapes so I assume the muffler does as well. Rest looks pretty clean. I’ll report back and see.
