a few mods need advice

i got a xj 650 engine, i got my hands on a 81 xj 650 bike that was wrecked and the frame was tweaked so i figured it best to use this engine on a project.

right now im going threw repairing it and collecting parts to get the engine to fire up again.

the olny mods i can for sure say is its got accel coil packs, now i went threw ported , polished, and gasket matched the intake and exhaust ports.

i got a bit of experience port and polishing so i got no worries there but im wondering is this really a worth doing (the porting)?

the ports on both exhaust and intake had a lot of extra casting material i could remove so i know the engine will flow a hell of a lot better.

the next step is im tempted to remove the valves and do a 5 angle valve port but i figured before i get into all that its best to see if all this porting will pay off so im hoping to hear of some numbers from people who have done this before.

other then this also what other good mods can i do to the engine to get some real power out of it? ive checked around the forums here but didnt come up with what i wanted.
