Looking to see if anyone has swapped out their stock 650 Maxim buckhorn handlebars for a lower rise, more standard type handlebar.

Doesn't always happen, but my Midnight's buckhorns sometimes give me the old pain between the shoulders routine. I remember occasionally getting some of that discomfort back in 1980 with my first 650 Maxim.

I saw a Midnight on the internet with handlebars kinda like my SR500's. Looked pretty cool. Wonder about the ride comfort and posture of the rider.

Hey I changed the bars on my SR500s too. I think the Japanese simply design for people with shorter arms, they always put my wrists at the wrong angle. I'm using BikeMaster "European" bars on both of my Seca 550s right now, and they are ideal. If you want a taller bar with more pullback but a similar bend take a look at the "GP Touring" style.

Interesting factoid: Both the 550 Seca and Maxim came with the SAME handlebar.
