Wow, I did not know they were hard to find, mine had it on it when I bought it. Actually took it off for a bit for a change of pace, but after my first ride down the interstate, I promptly put it back on.

 

It’s been difficult for me to locate one so far.

 

Darn, never even thought about it before! .....it is one heck of a difference with it off, did not like the way it rode at all at highway speed!

It takes some skill. You have to pour the fuel into each cylinder as you're riding it while also trying to get it spread evenly across the 4 cylinders and still be able to pay attention to where you're going and run the rest of the controls. Piece of cake right?

Why the heck do people feel that removing parts makes their bike more valuable?

 

$5800 buys a lot of motorcycle, that's very little.
750SOHCs are appreciating in value.
You might get $500 if you part that one out, basically just an engine.
$400 would be a fair price. Personally I'd rather have the $400.

 

but think of the convenience, you could tie a rope to it and drag it home

 

That's not just a bike. It is a work of art. You obviously don't get it. Try wearing skinny jeans and growing a beard. That might help.

I don't hate the look, but I wouldn't pay that amount for it! Guy needs to recognize that he's selling an incomplete bike and price it accordingly. Subtract money for all the parts that are missing as opposed to adding money.
