another 2nd trophy today for the 900rk.... the judges still like to give the honda 500 1st place because of the fancy flames in the paint job. Oh well.....

Congrats! Not a fan of flames at all. Guess the judges do... Btw, the bike looks great as always.

Congratulations! Nice to see the latest trophy and that your Seca is getting recognized as it should.
BTW, did they come from the factory with the vented front disks?

But with only 600 or so shipped here I didn't think I'd see this many and so few 900's. But 84-87 was a bad time for the motorcycle industry, dealers failing everywhere.

When I first rescued this bike, it took a fair bit of cleaning and detailing to get it to what it is now, but I did NOT reprint anything or replace anything. It's all factory..... the seat cover was a nos cover that I found, wasn't cheap, but couldn't bring myself to go with a cheap cover for this bike---especially after I learned about the low serial number.

After getting it on the road, I was simply hoping to someday get maybe an Honorable Mention trophy to justify for myself the time and care spent trying to rescue it..... so, 7 or 8 trophies later ---:)........

So is this your go to bike for riding?
Or do you spread the fun around so none of your bikes get jealous ?

What a beautiful bike. I'll take that bike over a bike with flames any day. Simple and perfect.

You've got more nerve than I do Hog and Congratulations!

I couldn't wait to take my all original 1975 H2 Kaw (cept for the open stingers I had installed for the show) to it's first show. I rented a trailer, fully enclosed so as not to have the original paint damaged and towed it up to Pa to the White Rose MC club for their vintage show & swap meet. As I unloaded the bike, the whispering began..."he brought a triple", "he must not know the judges hate triples", "is that a 2 stroke", "uh oh, he brought a Kawasaki?".....It completely rattled my nerves when I was already so nervous from the trip up that I could barely wheel my bike into the line for judging. Talk about nerve racking! One guy came up to help me and said "promise me that you'll start it later". I asked him about the whisperings and he said that yeah, the judges were all friends and rode vintage Hondas but not to worry, they would judge fairly so I felt a little better after hearing that. Even so, I couldn't watch as the judges began to go over every inch of it!

I won a 1st place but the most fun was starting the bike to ride it back to the trailer...the building for those that don't know is a L shape and the bikes are lined up inside the L...so when I fired it up....yes, VERY loud.....

So one show, that's it....and I'll never do it again. I was thrilled that it won but exhausted from what I did to myself. To this day, I still don't know why I was so nervous but I was shot so badly afterwards that I asked my GF to drive us home.

I never appreciated that part of it before but I sure do now so good for you and you've got a beautiful bike!
