    Hey guys,

So I'm having some issues with the wiring diagram and finding where everything goes. Worth noting that I am using a Haynes manual. I do not have power at the switch for the Aux light. This lamp should come on when the key is in the ignition correct? I traced from the switch back to a plug that is where all the wires for the right handle bar switches go. I have power on the R/W,L/W,and the R/W and nothing on the other half of the connector. Which is where I think I should have some power for the switch according to the diagram. But from the plug back it just goes into the wire colossus and I lose it. As of now I am stumped and I do not want to take apart the wiring electrical tape. Sorry for the long post just wanted to get everything out there. I see there are some other things connected to the wire, Could that effect it in any way? If need be I can also upload Pictures. Any and all help appreciated!!!

comes on the same way headlight comes on when relay closes . motor must be turning over or running.
switch must be turned to on as well

here is the relay. the diode supplies/rectifies voltage coming from alternator, triggering relay to close

I am having similar issues, but I think it is the AUX swx, as the headlight is coming on when she is running. Checked my light and it is good was well. Want to see what you come up with.

How would I go about checking to see if it is a bad switch or the ground? I just ran it for about ten minutes and the Main came on but the Aux did not. I know the bulb is good I tested it.

find the connector for it and measure for continuity through the switch

    Hey XJ550H,
So I installed a new toggle switch and when I tried turning it on the main got really dim. The switch was a 12VDC rated up to 20 amps I believe. And the Lower light still did not come on. After about a minute the main actually turned off and stayed off even with the bike running. I'm guessing that I either blew a fuse or burnt out the main light. Does that sound right? It would appear that the lower bulb has funky wiring? Also what would you suggest now? I guess I should check the wires to ground. Thanks for the direction.

check the wattage on the headlight could be 100 watts which is about 8 amps. should be 60 watts

the switch you used was just for the aux light?

rated for 20 amps or rated up to 20 amps?
