I am thinking about a peanut tank on my bike but I have not really seen any xj700 bobbers with a peanut tank. I am wondering if this is for a reason. If anyone has done one I would really appreciate some pics of now it was mounted and what not. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

You wont see peanut tanks on xjs because of the triple back bone.. Unless you wanna do serious modifications to the frame, dont go with any frisco style tank.

depending on what you do with your seat, xv250 tanks can fit with a little know how.. a long with a few others who have a wide tunnel.. but again, the seat needs to be figued out, but its much better curves than the blunt end of the xj as it tucks under the seat.

It's not a direct swap and not sure on the differences between xj550 frame and yours, but with enough know how it could be fine im sure.
