Carb Tools to Borrow

Anybody in North Texas with carb tools that I can borrow?

Looking for:
- carb rack stand
- float caliper
- fuel height gauge (so I can set the float level- wet set)
- and any other helpful gadget to do carbs

 

A carb rack stand will usually fit the carb rack it is built for. You can build one yourself or use a vise, Level the carbs both ways in the vise.
You can buy a cheap vernier or dial caliper for that and use it for many other tasks.
Just use some clear tubing for the wet set gauge.

 

Never understood all the work for a carb rack. I just set back bowls on a piece of scrap wood. you can shim the angle with post its. If you own an XJ, buy the darn clear tube for the float bowl inspection as your gonna want it later for troubleshooting.
Fuel height gauge, you know I got an idea to 3D print something to set float levels that will let you inspect both floats at the same time. IMO, if both floats are straight and not one of them bent, dry measurements are so darn close that a wet measurement is within spec.

 

I set mine dry with no issues.

 

If I dry set mine to spec, they are way out on the wet set. Wet is always more important.

 

Yes l just haven't compared them yet.
