Im thinking of painting my XJ 650 Yics motor on my bike. It has a few places that could use some attention so Im going to paint the block(was thinking light grey/gunmetal) Ive already painted the jug with High temp black(1200 degree) Is there a paint thats recomended that wont chip or flake in the next few years after I apply the paint? Or maybe a nice proceedure from someone that has already accomplished this?

I've had good luck with Duplicolor's 500* engine enamels; once fully cured (takes about a week) it's tough as nails. I've only used it on valve covers though, and to repaint the black part of my wheels.

The UPPER half of your crankcase was painted silver from the factory; the lower is "raw."
