I've noticed it doesn't want to idle quite right, I cleaned the carbs, synced, and even tried to colortune.

but now, I am wondering about the exhuast....
I think one of the dohnuts ar out where the exhaust meets the muffler. would that throw out the sync?
    should I replace them both?

it still seems to run decent. just seems to want to die on me untill it's really warmed up......

if I adjust the idle so it doesn't die, it will be idleing like crazy when it warms up.

Vacuum leak at the butterfly shaft seals? Mine were horrible after 25+ years. How about float level? You'd know if there was an exhaust leak since you'd be able to hear it. Plus there is a crossover tube.

If it is dying until warmed up, you probably need to clean out your enrichment circuit. It doesn't take much to plug up the passage in the bowl for sitting over the winter.
