    Hi guys,

I have a 1982 Seca and I just got a new front tire for the first time si ce I've owned the bike. When I put the wheel back on the bike the outer edge of the right brake cailper was rubbing against the rotor. I discovered this the hard way by hearing metal on metal a few hunded feet from my house.

Today I removed the wheel looking for the problem. Everything looked fone so I put everything back together. The caliper was still rubbing. So I pryed the right fork away from the rotor about 1/8th of an inch and clamped down the clamp bolt on the axel.

That doesn't seem like a good solution, but it must have been what the PO did, otherwise I would have noticed the grinding.

So what could be wrong with my bike? Bent fork? How do I test/fix the problem?

    Thanks
    Steve

The collar is in the correct position on the right side of the wheel.

This particular bike does not have a front fender.

The speedo hub is installed correctly. I get acurate speed readings when I ride, and the hub is tight against the wheel as it should be.

As far as the spacer... I did not take the bearings out so the spacer is still inbetween the bearings.

Loosen up the fork. Bounce the front a few times. Everything should be aligned then. You can use a pair of straight sticks tied perpendicualrly along the forks, and sight down them to make sure the forks are parallel. The upper and lower trees might be out of aligment, so you may have to loosen the stem nuts and do a bit of tapping to get the twist out.

Kmoe.. i looked on youtube for details on how to realign the forks as you suggested. I'll try that next and hope it fixes itself. If not then I'll post some pictures like XJ550H suggested.

Thanks to all for the advice. I'll let you know what I find.
