Hi guys, I'm thinking of changing my forks from the standard 650 forks to the air assisted (preload) non-antidive forks of the 750.

Was wondering if anyone has direct experience of both and wether in their opinion a change would be worth the hassle of sourcing some?

Only reason i really want them is i have a cool idea for custom preload adjuster nuts and want it for my bike before i make them and sell them out.

Biggest difference I know of is that mot 650's have center mount axels and the 750's have forward mounts. So a change in handling will be experienced.

Oh, Man ... you're speaking to my heart!

I yearn for a nice set of Adjustable Pre-loads like I had back on my 1979 Yam XS-650 Spec. Those we're sooo easy to set. I can't imagine why later bikes didn't have them.

Don''t get all gooey for the Pneumatics. They ain't all they are cracked-up to be.
I can't begin to tell you how many guys have drifted-in looking to get Fork Seals done after visiting a Gas Station and "Getting some air."

Buy yourself a hand pump and keep it under 7 psi (which aint much)!

Got the forks off a 82 650 turbo, I'm about to swap in on my 81 650H. I'll let you know how it goes. I'd be right interested in the preload dialing you speak of. I've heard from two sources that there will be some change in the handling characteristics but no one can tell me exactly how. I'll find out soon enough.
