My friend just got a 1973 Honda CB750 the other day and it came with a few modifications like a fork from another bike. He wants to return it to stock and will give it to me if it fits on mine. It’s a dual disk front brake which will give me more brake power, and he will give it to me for free! The only problem is the diameters don’t match up exactly. From online research, my 1980 xj650 maxim has a diameter of 36mm, and the cb750 has a diameter of 35mm. Would this still be possible to swap over? I could use some sort of shim if needed, but 1mm diameter difference is not a lot.... Thanks!

    35mm would fit a Seca 550.
yes you couls put a band of shim stock around the tubes.
other issues you need to check is axle diameter of the new front forks and possible spacer issues.

I'd feel better with a proper 650 Maxim brake than that 1973 Honda stuff.
