Forum for Carbs

I think it would be of great benefit to those who come here for help and those who have provided such excellent instructions in the past if a new forum/sub-forum were created just for carbs.

Top it off with some stickies of the best carb tutorials that have been created.

One for all the tear down rebuild instructions.

One on just the enrichment circuit and how to clean it, particularly with the sizes of wire/probes/bits to use for clearing the tiny passages.

I am sure there are a few others that should be there as well.

Then, when people ask a question, they can be pointed to the most obvious solution rather than having to recreate the wheel with each new thread.

As people encounter issues not quite covered in the "stickies" they can then ask specific questions and get focused help. This would also make it far easier when searching for information as any/every post about carbs would be in this one place to search through.

 

Great idea but there is limited resource for site administration.

We really could use a safety forum among others

I know snow is looking for PHP/mysql programmers to help out if anyone knows any.

 

hi, i have a 82 xj550j. it was given to me a year ago. im having with i think might be a fuel restriction prob. i have rebult the carbs installed them and the bike. has not ran right.it seems to run pretty good untill it really warms up for about 15 mins then does not want to keep running. ive checked all them vacum areas. and dont really know whats going on. i have synced the carbs and it still does not run right. the bikes engine seems to be ok sounds good but does back fire some times after it warms up. rpms are smooth through 0-4500 rpm the rough through 45000-8000 then really smooth to the red line. ive been troubleshooting this bike for a while and tonight i found this great website. any help would wounderful.
