Fuel over fill problem

    I have an xj1100 project just got it from being parked for 19 years when I first got it I could put fuel in it and the fuel whouldnt fill over but after a few small cleaning jobs on the carbs just to see if it whould run cleaned the float needle bores now I have fuel flowing in to the air box any help whould be great

    I've read it but I was trying to get the bike running and know it's viable first so I was looking to see what whould cause this problem

    Carbs that have sat and need to be rebuilt.
    You might get by to try to start her by just pulling them off for a quick clean of the float bowls. There may be a float that is hung up, or a bit of crud keeping a float needle from sealing.
    The carbs will need attention if you want the bike to run properly, and without dumping fuel into the crankcase. Once viton float needles get about 20 years old, they stop being able to seal against their seats.

    Ok good to know I'll get a set of them I am planning on doing a rebilt as long as it's going to be a good bike but want to atlest get the bike moving once or twice
