Ok, I have struggled removing the old Gaskets, most of them probably the self vulcanizing type.

I found a great way to remove them after most of the work has been done painfully slow. I used some Gun bore cleaner on the latest gasket, and now it peels off like butter...

    Cool.
I sometimes use Hoppes as an aftershave. It smells so good.

Wish I had known that several years ago when I first did a valve adjustment. Scraped and scraped get the gasket bits off.

I have lots of Hoppes. Air freshener for my basement....

I love the smell of Hoppes...smells like freedom....

But never put Hoppes in beer.
It smells great, but does not taste good at all.
