    Good afternoon folks. First time poster here...

    I recently lost a good friend of mine and his significant other insisted that I take his '82 XJ650. Needless to say, I was floored. I played music with this guy, hung out countless nights by the fire with this guy, and we've just been there for each other for anything.

    His name was Mike, and he always liked to tinker with his guitars and basses, but never did much with his Maxim. I plan to honor his name by personalizing it in pure Mike-style. I know he'd enjoy it and be happy to see it in good hands.

    No need for condolences. I just wanted to share the start of a great journey with a stellar bike from an amazing friend.

    --no pics just yet. I'll post in another thread when I get started.

    The new seat will be here today, the new bars next week. The tires and exhaust will go on after. Once I'm caught up, I'll order a set of forward controls for TC.

    Looking forward to posting the before/after
