    1983 Maxim XJ750- purchased April 1987 w/4700 mi
    Full original Fairing/Trunk/Bags
1st motor- 57,000.. something broke in the trans not allowing 1/N/2 shift very easily... Figured if I HAD to split the case- I'd want to completely rebuild it... cheaper to buy a parts-bike than repair
    2nd motor from 22K bike ($250)... now has 43.9K

so the "bike" has about 79K

XJ650 Seca 53784 miles. Rear shocks have been replaced, they were shot. Haven't done anything with the front forks but I should, nor have the valves been adjusted. Head set bearings got notchy and were replaced with taperd bearings. Misc electrical problems. The Igniter box was susceptible to taking on moisture and would cause a bad cut out, fixed it by sealing it. The fuse block was replaced. Several relays went bad. Replaced the alternator. All of the switch gear on the handle bars need attention or replacing. Currently have no spark, just starting to trouble shoot that. Edit: The problem turned out to be a bad pick up coil so that has now been replaced.

I've had my bike about 2 years now and on the road for one. The first year I got it I did a complete tear down/rebuild but left somethings for later. The original speedo said 78,000 miles on it when i first got it. I have since added about 8,000 miles. Not bad for one canadian season. I am working on replacing a lot of the crucial parts this spring before the new season now that I have the time and can't drive it due to newly arrived snow.
