Hi my xj650 has the non self adjusting tenssioner. Can i just align the "C" then just remove the 2 bolts holding the tensioner in place??

This would be my 1st time to adjust and replace the gasket and O ring in the tensioner, im not sure if im missing something. I surely dont want anything inside to get damage or mis aligned.. any thought?

    OK.
You can set the crankshaft to C and just remove and replace.
You migh want o have a really close look at why it is leaking, and if the leak reallu is from there. That gasket is an unusual one to have fail.
