I replaced the brushes on my starter and that gave me a month or so. I just get static when I hit the starter button. Gotta be something else wrong with it. So, I'm just going to try a new (to me) starter. Saw a few on Ebay for like $80.00, I'd like to get a reman'd one. I don't know if I want to try one of these used ones.

I read it, did it! I don't know, now it seems like the battery is not getting charged. Its a new battery. But I have to keep putting th charger to it. Sometmes i hit start button and the whole circuit just shuts off. Dead bike! Shake the wires and i comes back on. Could that new solenoid be jenky? Tired o dickin with it! Want it to work already.

The generator on your bike will not charge the battery until it gets above 4,000 rpms...i would suggest you methodically go thru the electrical system....have you check your generator brushes also...they could be beyond the wear limits....your battery should hold a charge of 12 volts before cranking...i needs all of that for starting.....get out a voltmeter & measure the voltage before & during cranking....

Thanks, I've just been running it around the neighborhood, that's probably why it hasn't charged. It was running good past like 1/4 throttle, a little sluggish below that. Noticed that the idle mixture screws were 4 to 4 1/2 turns out. I changed the pilot jets from 40 to 41 and set the mix screws to 2 1/2 turns out. It did not like that! Tried too much adjustment at once.
