All credit for the original Headlight Modulator goes to Gamuru. Please refer to his FAQ for wiring instructions. This FAQ adds some extra features to the original circuit, using a very simple addition.

This new circuit consists of Preserve Lowbeam, Preserve Highbeam (and bypass Modulator in case of failure), and deactivate Headlight (for extra starting power)

The part I found which seems to make a nice fit is the NKK S303 SPDT switch, which is rated at 30V DC and 20A. Any SPDT that has a suitable rating, or even an SPST switch may be used (but you lose the deactivate feature).

To install, follow Gamuru's faq, but attach the Wiring Harness Side to the Pole 2, with Pole 1 continuing to attach to the respective terminal on the relay and flasher. Connect Pole 3 directly to the headlight. You'll want to make sure you make the wires attaching to the switch long enough that it can be mounted somewhere accessible, perhaps near the instrument panel. It should be noted that to disable the low beam for starting, you'll have to set the dimmer to High and set the new switch to OFF.

I hope some people find this simple modification helpful, and also to assist in making the modulation options legal in places the original circuit would not be.
