If I put on pod filters and adjust jets correctly, how much fuel effeciency will I lose. Id guess a 25% increase in air = 25% increase in gas. Is this thinking right? Are these recommended for long trips, thats mainly what I ride. Am I just being vain because they look so sharp? If you guys suggest them is there much difference btw a $40 set and $100? Thanks, Lou

I went from mid 30's to 30 flat with pods and jstting, so figure about 16%. The difference between a $40 set of EMGO pods and a $100 set of K&N's is quality and longevity. The EMGO's are pleated paper with a wire mesh outer and glued on end caps. The K&N's are oil empregnated cloth material, with the end caps actually molded into the cloth weave. I have used both. On my Z1 i had K&N Ovals and they worked flawlessly, most EMGO pods are better than nothing but performance can be improved upon. I kow the guys over at Kawasaki triples Woldwide prefer the Uni foam filters for their 2 strokes. cruzerjd

I used pod filters on my 81 XJ650. I got them off of ebay. I am getting 50 mpg now that I got the carbs almost right...
That's running 80 miles a day at interstate speeds and running it hard!
