Just recieved a large box of NOS parts for my 900 and I'm like a kid in a candy store

Toolbox is already out and bits are coming off :)

Anyone else look forward to working on their bike?

I sit in an office for 40+ hours a week and getting my hands dirty is something I really look forward to doing on my time off.

I'd be more excited about working on my bike if I had another to ride while it's down. I do enjoy the wrenching, though. Far more than I ever thought I would. This evening my daughter watched me (from a safe distance) as I removed the wheels in preparation for new rubber tomorrow. Getting those seeds planted early . . . .

sweet always nice to find nos parts for bikes of our vintage.
Yup I enjoy it for no good reason other than I was sitting around with some friends I decided to take the tank off, pull the plugs to see how things were then bump th epilots a bit richer and synch the carbs. I had no issues bike ran great just bored LOL!!

    Oblivion,
if you are mounting the tires yourself and want to take the time here's what I have done for balancing.

when you have the old tires off and the wheel cleaned up either make a stand (I used two lawn chairs last time.) so the axle is level put the axle through the wheel(no tire yet) and give it a very gentle spin, mark the very top of the wheel do this 5-7 times hoepfully you will end up with one mark ending up on top directly across from that mark is going to be your heavy spot of the rim. The tires come with a dot on them signalling the light spot of the tire. match up the dot with the heavy spot on the rim this will reduce the amount of weight needed to balance the tire when you get there repeast the process with the tire mounted with the tire mounted you want to add wieght to the light spot untill you get a random spot stopping @12 o clock.

Oh and most bike shops have nifty little plastic covers to slide on the rim so you don't marr them up.
