Okay blown bulb indeed. Here's another problem. I am usually super anal about my petcock being left on Prime (since it doesn't run with it to ON). Apparently I left it on Prime and noticed my gas level was A LOT less than when I last left it a few days ago when I was messing with the turn signals. So I started it up and it had a tough time staying on. Even with the choke fully on the entire time it still turned over ran and then slowly idled to off. After about a half hour of restarts, back fires, manually revving it to stay on etc., it finally idled with the choke on like normal when it warms up. In the midst of all of this I did notice what sounded like the diaphragms "scupping" and little puffs of barely noticeable smoke of some kind each time it did this. Once it warmed up (it's about low 50's during the day) it seemed to run fine until I took her out for a test ride and it dies on me about a mile and a half from my house. Now I think it's just because I ran out of gas, I was on my way to the gas station about 2 miles from my house, but in the event that I now have gas in my crankcase with my oil what are my options? I did pull the oil cap and it smelled a little like gas, but I was so pissed off I had to walk my 300+ lbs bike home I didn't really take extreme note to it. Am I screwed? And are any of those symptoms something that you would get with that situation?

Got to start with changing the oil ASAP. Then fix the floats, then the petcock so it works as intended or add an off switch.

Is the oil level above the sight window? You may have a lot of gas in your crankcase.

Yeah I noticed after it sits a little bit I have to slap the side of the float bowls until I hear that little "clink" sound from the floats. I'm changing the oil anyway so hopefully this remedies this and yeah it's low on oil. Gotta find a regular petcock that fits my tanks config.

Okay, so I put a new vacuum line to the petcock and it now works as it should. Oil is good and blinkers work beautifully. Took her for a good ride down to Cape May Brewery and froze my nuts off. It got harder and harder to pull the clutch in as the day went on lol.

If that tank and seat came with the bike, you've probably got a Seca - both are Seca part, not Maxim. One of the other big differences is the anti-dive circuits, which would be activated by a continuation of the brake line into a mechanism at the bottom of the fork legs. Looks like youv'e got those too. You can figure out the year from the frame number: 5G2-0***** is '81, 5G2-1***** is '82, etc. If it fdoesn't start 5G2, it may not be a Seca after all.

Love the look of your bike! I think the seat looks good with the styling of your bike. I'm trying to figure out a way I can put my rear seat back on (and keep it comfortable) while also allowing it to be removable and not detract from the bobber look when it's on.

Sebwiers we checked his vin earlier in the thread it is in fact a seca.

Ejpt with the tail on your bike and the frame chop it is going to be difficult to add a second seat. Start a thread on it and see if anyone has an idea for you.

Leaving a 30 year old Petc0ck on PRIME is a Death Wish.

Go to ACE or True Value Hardware.
Buy a Briggs & Stratton Fuel Shut-off Valve.
Mount it right next to the Petc0ck Outlet.
    It's INSURANCE!

    Thanks Rick!

I like the seat from the side, but if I could somehow make it into the fender as well I could keep it and just shave the sides down. I would just need to come up with a new mount for the seat to sit onto and secure it.

After you mount the Briggs and Stratton Shut-Off, ... it looks "Out-of-place" on the Bike.
    The RED Lever "Stick-out"

    Solution:
    Stop by a Drug Store.
Buy a Bottle of Black Nail Polish off the Sale Rack.

Cover the RED Area of the Briggs Valve with Black Nail Polish
Leave the Front Edge RED so you can have a visual on how the Valve is set.

I actually kind of like the red on it. I have red anodized bar stoppers on the handlebars and it might look cool we shall see.
