maxim 750 engine strip

    Hi all,have my maxim 750 stripped for work, can someone tell me is there supposed to be plastic type tubes over the front crankcase engine studs?? can these be sourced and is their job to stop oil passing through the studs? Thanks.

    They fall apart but have nothing to do with stopping oil. I believe they are there for 2 reasons. Dampen noise and prevent corrosion.
