I have an 83 XJ750 Maxim. I am working on the engine and I have most of side covers off. Today, I noticed this spring on my garage floor, I have never seen it before, and I am paranoid that it came out of the engine. I have no idea where it could have come from. I'd appreciate it if you all could help me identify it.

It looks like either a headlight adjuster spring or the tensioner spring inside the cam chain auto tensioner unit........

I bet it came from Tigger, cause their bottoms are made of the spring.

That's exactly what it is if it's a Yamaha part. Cam chain tensioner spring is larger in diameter and more of a "compression" spring than that.

I went out in the garage to get one in my hand to confirm but I can't readily locate my stash of headlight hardware. But I'm 99.9% sure that's what it is. (Unless it came from something else like your lawn mower.)

How many springs does the cam chain auto tensioner suppose have? As far as I can tell it only needs 2 and I have both of those.

Right. Two max. (Depending on design.)

It's the spring off the headlight right-left adjuster screw.
