Need help chossing wind shield xj650j

    I loath the look of a XJ with a wind shield although I have an hour and a half commute to work every day and would love to ditch the truck and start riding more although I quickly realized the couple of times I've done it just how much wear and tear 65 mph puts on your neck and chest. I want something that detaches easily and doesn't make the bike look like a space ship. There are a lot of choices out there and I'm sure alot of you have some does and don'ts I can learn from. Also if you guys have pics of how they look on your bike it would be nice to see them.

    Mine was a RoadKrome and I was pretty happy with it. Only thing I would change would be to have one with a 4 point mount. This one was 2 point and tended to vibrate.

    I found that enough air got around it to feel like I was riding (Venture is like being in a cage!) but not enough to beat me to death.

    Check my gallery for a pic - I don't mind the look. There are windshields made for easy removal but they are all pretty easy to get off. You can mark the mounting rods to avoid adjusting every time.

    If you look in my gallery you will see I have a 1982 yamaha xs400j maxim with a SLIP-STREAMER ss-28 Windshield I like it with 1 exception the rear of the bike is too high and the wind is directly on my forehead. when I lower it 1" i will not have to wipe bug juice off my head anymore.

    Thanks for the insight guys, btw your bikes look great! Shields and all. I think I'm leaning towards a shorty like Micarl's I just need enough to keep my neck from cramping up!

    my is a spit fire it came with the bike but my best friend has one for his xv750 also, it only has two mounts but its pretty sturdy once you get it right, but I almost never use it ( just for longer rides and it helps when it gets cold, I would like to trim it a little shorter but haven't out of fear of f@#king it up! here are some pic's
