Do a search here for the wiring diagram for that bike (that's what I did)
Till then you might want to hook the stock unit back up and run the engine, while un-plugging each wire, one at a time to find the one that keeps it running.
Then when you can keep it running, use the wiring diagram to keep the wires you will need (or want) and label the ones you are going to eliminate (just incase) before you tuck them out of sight.
On my 750 Seca, I kept the signal light wires, nuetral light wire, high beam, and illumination wire for the speedo. I then labeled allthe other wires and tucked them behind the headlight in a black plastic box to hide them.
I don't run a tach (why?) I never seemed to even come close to redline when I rode it before, so I didn't feel the need for one. All I have is a small speedometer with 4 LED lights under it for nuetral, signals (2) and highbeam indicator. Good enough.

I have a speedo and warning light dash much more simple and functional, the only problem is no tacho as its not cable driven its wired.

Looks like you have just what you need. You don't need no stinking tach anyways. I don't miss mine. I never reved it high enough to worry about redline anyways. Experienced riders go by the sound of the engine.

Just google search 'Koso RX1N' got mine from the UK on Ebay.

I must admit I have become a fan of them. Twin tripmeters, 1/4 mile timer, records max speed/rpm/temp

And after working on its calibration fine tuning, it is within 1% of GPS and google maps. Dead accurate!
