The forks on my xj1100 have some pitted rust on the upper half of the travel, as far as I am aware there's nothing I can do to fix it, so I wanted to get new forks but can't find anything that is original and not also pitted. Is there any after market forks I can use for this bike? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You can fill the pits, not sure if araldite is suitable, and rub the excess off. Someone here will know what to use and your forks may not look perfect but you can fit fork gaiters if you want to protect the forks and cover the repair. Some companies rechrome fork stanchions but I don't know what the cost would be.

It depends on how much you want to spend on it, but repairing the pits, sanding and then fork gaiters is a good way to repair the damage.

I've bought new fork tubes from "Forking by Frank" and lately from "Race Tech". Race Tech is easy to find and a great service company, a wealth of professional information and parts.
