I have officially crossed over from dirt to pavement.
Picked up an '81 550 Seca today. This is my first road bike having spent many years in the woods with dirtbikes.
Thank you all for the great information on this site, it was invaluable when looking over the bike before i plunked down cash.

    Welcome to the site.

Check your rear brakes before you ride it. Check your chain. And get a manual and go over all the maintainance check lists to make sure you're in top shape.

    and we all like pics!

Welcome aboard. The 550 Secas are great little machines.

I like the '81 a lot better without the fairing; mine's got about 27K on it now:

Get some pics up; these guys are probably getting tired of looking at my bikes.

    Pics to come.
Will do on the brakes and manual. Got a few days before rego/title comes through anyway.

    Oh so tempting though!!

    thanks.

Guy who had it originally sold it then got it back then rebuilt it. It has 26K, was his weekly commuter, pretty clean. Not as clean as the one above but gimme some time.

Welcome to the site! Very nice looking bike. Bigfitz's bikes all look like or better than they did on the showroom floor. But you have still found a nice bike.

Dude, Fitz impressed. It has a right hand sidecover, you just need stripes!

Very clean. Black wasn't the color for '81, but I don't blame the PO. He's also swapped to an '82 or '82 painted fender, the '81 was chrome like my white bike. I really like the "body color" fender, and they look so much better in black...

Probably should have posted this one initially. You've got a really nice example there, take care of it. You'll love it.

My one and only street bike, in 30 years, is my 550 Seca. It sat for 10 years but I'm making up for that now. I'm up to 69,000 kms (43,000 miles). Great little bike! These bikes are so old now that it's very cool to ride one! Enjoy!
