New XJ owner, I have a lot to learn!

    Hey everyone,
    I live in Oregon and I recently purchased what I think is a 1982 XJ650 Seca (what he told me it is) from a buddy for only $100! I don't know too much about these bikes, I grew up on the dirt. The bike runs, needs some TLC and defiantly needs some new parts (don't know where to start)....Just thought I'd introduce myself and show some pics of my new project bike...

    I see now the 650 seca has dual disc setup
    look between the 2 and 3 pipes in front of cylinder for motor size and check the vin on motor and frame
    first time here you will need a repair manual and some reading for you Welcome

    That's what it is. Rare bike in the U.S., and becoming quite collectable. Don't tell your buddy, but he basically gave it away for free.
