Hello folks, I am a new xj owner. Thought I would say hello and post a pre work pics as I bought the bike. I will post a few more pics as the work continues. [IMG]

That shot was taken the day after I purchased the bike . It needs a lot of work. Just about every thing rubber or gasket I think needs to be replaced. But on the bright side it is not frozen up. Needs most of the regular work that a bike that has been sitting up for a few years needs. I am not going to go for a full bobber build. I want the option to return the bike to stock if the need arises. most of the cosmetic stuff I plan to do is pod filters. different exhaust pipe ends cause these are rusted through, and a different set of handle bars. Also I am going to put in a custom battery box and a place for the cdi, fuse box, regulator to clean up the middle of the bike. Finally I am going to re foam the seat to my liking so it doesn't feel like my jewels are riding up by the gas cap.

I plan to start with a carb rebuild and tune with the pods. then work from the front to the back of the bike replacing broken or missing parts. I am not in a hurry so an 6 -12 month build is expected, I plan to do everything I can on the rebuild.

Welcome! Looking forward to seeing pics along the way. I know many people have had issues tuning with pods, but i think some have figured out how to make it work. Do a little research on here before determining what pods you put on. Good luck!
