    Other than the usual (compression, funny noises, fluids where fluids should not be, worn wheel/ head/ swing arm bearings) check that it stays in second gear during "more than moderate" acceleration. When I look at a vehicle I request to see it early in the day, and that it be dead cold upon my arrival. I want to know that it will start from cold, and hold a decent idle as it warms.
