Oil Leak?

So I have been reading and reading, and have got some good information out of this site. I am a newbie, and have pulled the carbs and cleaned them (thanks rick). I have also replaced the battery, the starter, and drained and refilled the oil. Now... the problem:
Well, it has been running very well... but today when leaving work i noticed that there was some fluid under the bike (it had been sitting for 12 hours in the sun) I smelled it and it smelled of oil. Now, I believe that i filled the oil too high when i changed it last time, but where would this be coming from? I will drain the oil and fill it accordingly this weekend, but i can't seem to find where the leak is coming from. On the side stand, the puddle is on the LH side (obviously). I need to get a pressure washer out and clean up the motor so that I can see where it is coming from. I was just wondering if this was normal with too much oil, or if i need to worry about anything.
Any suggestions are appreciated!!! The riding season just started here in AZ, so I am looking forward to a lot more time on the bike this winter!

Could be coming from lots of different places.

Best bet is to get it good and clean and see where it's coming from.

3 likely suspects: Drain plug, oil level sender and oil filter housing.
